Our in-school mental health support service, Place2Be, has just launched Parenting Smart, a new site for parents and carers. Parenting Smart offers parents practical advice on supporting their child and managing behaviour, with short articles and videos on a range of topics such as transition to secondary school, meltdowns, and sleep difficulties. To learn more, see the attached flyer.

Year 5 have been taking part in the Periscope to the Past project in conjunction with Dr Buchaillard from Cardiff University. This is a project to create a permanent artistic history trail around the wildflower gardens of Grange Pavilion to showcase Grangetown’s rich and diverse history. The events and places shown have all been nominated by local residents. During our return to school in March, we learnt about Industrialisation, and how Baroness Windsor changed Grangetown. We wrote letters to Baroness Windsor; composed descriptions of Grangetown and wrote about our favourite places in Grangetown. The children also made historical dioramas about Grangetown's history. The work will be displayed in the pavilion in Grange Gardens on Saturday 15th May … pandemic allowing!

Great work, 5P!
