Mrs Tyler = Mon,Tues, Wed
Mrs Coles = Thurs and Friday
We feel very lucky to be teaching this class and already cant believe how much learning has taken place this term. We are very keen to fill the gaps of learning that were missed during lockdown and are encouraging the children to work at home as well as in school. They should be:
* reading at least 3 times a week
* logging on to Google classroom to complete weekly homework
* practicing their spellings for half termly tests.
Here's to having a fantastic learning year. Thank you, Mrs Tyler and Mrs Coles

Hi 4P,
We hope you all had a wonderful weekend. This week we thought that we would try and get Year 4 fit and active . We wanted you to be on the move a bit more as well as thinking about how we can promote a healthy lifestyle. We wanted you to think about being physically and mentally healthy. Everyday we are going to start with different exercises. The resources will be shared each day in the classwork section of Google Classroom.
Miss you all.
Hi 4P,
We hope you have a lovely half term holidays in the sun, and those children who celebrated Eid, we hope you had a lovely day spent with your families. We are now back to our home learning activities this week. We have been so pleased how hard you have been trying at home. Well done! Keep it up! Your home learning grid is below.
Hi 4P,
Here is your half term homework project. It is very practical, so we hope you enjoy making it. The grid is on here, and in Google Classroom on the stream and in class work. All the resources needed are in classwork in Google Classroom. There is a project to make your very own musical instrument from things you don't need that are lying around the house, and some outdoor learning activities. Also, a community project to create a Grangetown Zoo! We hope you enjoy them. The grid is below and we have shared the link to the resources. Have fun and be creative! Have a lovely half term, and for children celebrating Eid at the weekend - Eid Mubarak!
What makes you happy?
Here's another video featuring the 'happy' children and staff of Grangetown Primary School.
Hi 4P,
Hope you are well. This week we haven’t given you a new home learning grid to complete as we know that over this half term we have given you a lot for you to do. So we have decided to get you to go back, and finish any work that you haven’t completed over the last four weeks.
There are two things that you need to do this week that are new:
1. Your Big Maths online.
2. The photograph/short video of ‘What makes you happy?’ This is a picture or a short video of you doing something that has made you happy while you have been at home. (Eg, painting, drawing, baking, gardening, exercising, etc.) You need to upload it by Thursday, checking that it is ok to share as we are putting a video on our website.
We have created a grid where you can tick off whether you have completed the activity, or not. You can work through the activities you haven’t completed, and tick off this grid when you have finished each one.
For those children who have finished everything, and upload you work everyday, there are some extra fun activities for you to do in the 'Classwork' section of Google Classroom!
The tick sheet to check what you have done is here below, but if you go into Google Classroom you can tick, and edit this sheet. Have a lovely week! We are missing you so much!
Hi 4P,
I hope you are all well, and I hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend with your family. I hope you all joined in with the VE Day celebrations too, remembering why this day was so important. It was a lovely sunny weekend. Your new learning grid is below.
Make sure you are all staying safe, and I am missing you loads.
Hi 4P,
Hope you are safe and well. This week is the start of an interesting week! Friday will be 75 years since WW2 ended in Europe. This day was known as VE day (Victory in Europe day) This Friday, the 8th May, is a bank holiday to celebrate and remember the events of WW2. We have included some links that you can watch about this special day. Have a lovely week. We are missing you lots!

Thank you very much for all your rainbows. Here is the 'Thank you!' video we are going to send to the NHS and Key Workers. I am sure they will really love it! Thanks again everybody!
Hi 4P,
Here are some Big Maths CLIC Parent Packs that you can work on with your parents. This will be part of your Maths this week, but you can use the resources whenever you like. There is also a parent guide as well that helps to explain what CLIC is, and what these packs are all about. Go on the CLIC pack you are currently working on, and you can practise your Maths skills.
Hi 4P,
We hope you all had a relaxing Easter holidays! We can't wait to find out what you have been up to. We also can't wait to see your fantastic attempts at making your own Mars Rovers. Don't forget to upload your pictures either through Google Classroom, or email your pictures you have taken directly to our email. If you could all say 'Hi!' to us on the Google Stream , so that we know you have seen our new messages tomorrow, and you have seen the new work that would be great. There is a new home learning grid for you this week (see below). We am missing you all a lot, and we can wait to see all your faces soon. Miss Minkowski and Mrs Coles
Hi 4P,
We are coming to the end of our second week working online. Thank you to all of you who have been completing tasks at home or online.
The next 2 weeks are the Easter Holiday. That means there will not be any home learning tasks on Google Classroom during this time. However, below there is an Easter Project task.
It is fun, I promise! Remember you can use the resources from this week's Context about the Mars Rover in Google Classroom to help you.
Have a lovely break everyone and we will be back on Google Classroom on 20th April. See you then!
Mrs Coles and Miss Minkowski
Hi 4P,
Here is a video to show you that even though you are not in school with us at the moment, we are still thinking of you, and we miss you! We hope you enjoy it, and it makes you smile! Stay safe!
